Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Terra Arrte LLC (“Terra Arrte,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use NotRot.

Summary: Most NotRot learning and focus data stays on your iPhone. NotRot does not sell personal information, display third-party ads, or track you across other companies’ apps or websites. Selected quiz material leaves your device only after you consent to AI data sharing.

Information kept on your device

NotRot stores the following in its app container or shared extension container so the app and its Screen Time extensions can work:

onboarding answers and settings;
focus schedules, selected apps, app categories, and web domains;
decks, cards, quiz attempts, accuracy, progress, streaks, and focus-token state; and
Family Controls authorization and scheduling state needed by Apple’s Screen Time frameworks.

Apple’s Family Controls picker uses opaque selections. NotRot uses these selections to apply schedules and shields on the device. NotRot does not send your selected-app list or Screen Time activity to our servers.

AI quiz information

If you turn on AI data sharing and request an AI quiz, NotRot sends only the material needed for that request through our encrypted backend to Google Gemini. Depending on what you choose, this may include:

chat messages, quiz topics, pasted text, and quiz preferences;
photos or camera images of notes that you select; and
generated quiz questions and related AI responses.

This information is used to generate the requested quiz or response. Do not submit sensitive or confidential information. You may turn AI data sharing off at any time in NotRot Settings; after that, NotRot will not send new AI requests unless you consent again.

Our backend relays AI requests and does not intentionally create a user profile from their contents. Infrastructure providers may keep limited operational or security logs. Google processes the submitted content under its applicable Gemini API terms and privacy commitments. Learn more at Google’s Gemini API Terms and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Purchases and subscription information

Apple processes payments. NotRot does not receive your payment-card details. We use RevenueCat to validate purchases, restore access, and determine subscription status. RevenueCat may process an anonymous app user identifier, device and app information, product interactions, subscription status, purchase history, and diagnostics for those purposes. Permissions

Family Controls / Screen Time: used to let you choose and manage apps, categories, or web domains on your device.
Camera: used only after you choose to photograph notes for quiz creation.
Photos: used only after you choose photos to import for quiz creation.

NotRot does not request contacts, precise location, microphone, advertising tracking, or access to your general browsing history.

How we use information

We use information to provide requested focus, quiz, purchase, support, security, and troubleshooting functions; comply with law; and protect NotRot from abuse. We do not use personal information for third-party advertising and do not sell it.

Retention and deletion

Local data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall NotRot. Deleting NotRot removes its app-container and shared-extension data from the iPhone. AI request contents are not intentionally stored as account history by NotRot’s backend, but Google and infrastructure providers may retain information as described in their policies. RevenueCat and Apple retain purchase records as required to provide subscriptions, restore purchases, prevent fraud, and comply with law.

NotRot does not require an account. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of information associated with a support request or third-party identifier, email admin@terraartte.com.

Security and international processing

We use HTTPS in transit and reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. No system is completely secure. Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate.

Age limit

NotRot is intended only for people age 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a person under 18 submitted information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

Changes

We may update this policy as NotRot or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and change the effective date. Material changes may also be presented in the app.
